KRA extends iTax compliance deadline to 30 June 2026
The Kenya Revenue Authority has extended the deadline for filing 2025 individual income tax returns to 30 June 2026, and introduced a one-off amnesty waiving penalties for late returns filed by 31 March 2026.
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced an extension of the 2025 individual income tax return filing deadline from 30 April 2026 to 30 June 2026 to allow more taxpayers time to comply.
Additionally, KRA has announced a one-off tax amnesty that will waive all penalties and interest on late tax returns filed and paid between 1 February 2026 and 31 March 2026.
"We are committed to making tax compliance as easy as possible," said the Commissioner General. "The extended deadline and amnesty are designed to encourage voluntary compliance while reducing the burden on taxpayers who may have missed earlier deadlines."
Taxpayers are reminded that the iTax portal at itax.kra.go.ke provides a simplified return-filing experience. KRA has also deployed mobile iTax clinics in 24 counties to provide free assistance.
Tax returns can also be filed at any KRA office, Huduma Centre, or through a registered tax agent.
