Huduma Centres launch extended weekend hours in 15 counties

From: GOV.KE EditorPublished: 6 August 2026

Huduma Kenya has extended Saturday operating hours to 5pm and introduced Sunday service in 15 counties to reduce weekday congestion at service centres.

Huduma Kenya has announced extended weekend operating hours at Huduma Centres in 15 counties, effective immediately, in response to citizen feedback on weekday congestion.

Centres in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, and 10 other counties will now operate on Saturdays until 5pm, up from the previous 1pm closing time, with select centres also open on Sundays from 9am to 1pm for high-demand services including national ID replacement and passport applications.

"This is a direct response to feedback that working citizens were struggling to access services during standard weekday hours," said the Huduma Kenya Programme Secretary.

A full list of participating centres and their extended hours is available on the Huduma Kenya website and at huduma.go.ke.
