Affordable Housing Programme: 50,000 units completed across 12 counties
The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development reports that 50,000 units under the Affordable Housing Programme have been completed and handed over to beneficiaries in 12 counties.
The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development has announced the completion and handover of 50,000 housing units under the Government's Affordable Housing Programme across 12 counties.
Units have been completed in Nairobi (Mukuru, Kibera, and Park Road estates), Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Meru, Embu, Nyeri, Machakos, Kakamega, and Kisii.
Beneficiaries were selected through a transparent ballot process managed by the Affordable Housing Corporation. Monthly mortgage payments range from KES 3,000 for the lowest income bracket to KES 15,000 for middle-income units.
A further 100,000 units are under construction across 25 counties with completion expected by December 2026. Citizens can check eligibility and apply at the Affordable Housing Corporation portal on eCitizen.
